American Truck Simulator brings the Truck Simulator series to a scaled-down United States, with American conventional semi-trucks and recognizable locations. The loop centers on taking cargo contracts and driving them to their destinations. Czech studio SCS Software developed it on the Prism3D engine and released it in February 2016 as a counterpart to Euro Truck Simulator 2, and it has sold over 6 million copies.

Assetto Corsa, whose Italian name translates to Race Setup, is a sim racing game built around realistic driving along with deep customisation and mod support. Players take a wide range of cars onto tracks that include laser-scanned circuits, with new content arriving through updates. Darkwind: War on Wheels is an online multiplayer game of armed cars, where races and road battles are resolved in turns rather than in real time. Its post-apocalyptic world draws on the Car Wars tabletop game and the Mad Max films while keeping a setting of its own. Created by Irish developer Sam Redfern under Psychic Software, it opened to players in 2007 and has kept receiving updates, arriving on Steam as a free-to-play release in 2014.

Earn to Die 2 is a driving action game in which players push a vehicle through zombie-filled cities, aiming for checkpoints and the finish line of each level. It follows the original Earn to Die, a flash and mobile title, but trades that game's desert backdrop for urban streets. It was developed by the Russian indie studio Toffee Games and published on Steam by Not Doppler in 2016.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is a non-linear truck simulator set across a compressed version of Europe. Players haul cargo between cities in articulated trucks, then expand into a business by purchasing more vehicles and depots and hiring drivers. Czech developer SCS Software built it on its own Prism3D engine and released it in 2012 as a sequel to Euro Truck Simulator; the intro reports over 22 million units sold.
