    MADiSON is a first-person horror game built around a cursed instant camera. Players follow Luca, a teenager who receives the camera for his sixteenth birthday, and use it to work through puzzles while piecing together the dark story behind it. Developed by the Argentine studio Bloodious Games, it began as a 2016 project with an early demo in 2017 and launched in July 2022, drawing praise for its puzzle quality and carefully balanced tension.

The aim is to build a railroad empire across procedurally generated maps, switching into a schematic construction mode to plan and lay out the network. Kamiński handled publishing himself, bringing it to Steam in September 2012 for Windows and Mac. Steam files it under action and adventure alongside its indie tag, and it holds a Metacritic score of 76.

  • Medieval Engineers

It takes place on an unnamed, waterless Earth-like planetoid whose terrain players can explore, mine, reshape and deform as they work. Its Steam tags also point to strategy and role-playing elements alongside the trading focus.     Mewgenics combines cat breeding with tactical roguelike combat: players raise cats that take on character classes, then send them on adventures resolved through tactical battles on procedurally generated grids. The project began at Team Meat in 2012, stalled for years and was cancelled, then Edmund McMillen reacquired it and finished it with Tyler Glaiel. The American duo released it on Windows in February 2026, and it sold over a million copies in its first week.

    Minoria is a Metroidvania with 2.5D graphics and a gothic horror mood, following warrior nuns who venture into the ruined Kingdom of Ramezia to rescue princesses captured by heretical witches. It serves as a spiritual successor to the Momodora series. Brazilian studio Bombservice developed it and DANGEN Entertainment published it on Windows in August 2019. Critics liked its combat and graphics but found the quality uneven and the game short.

It takes inspiration from Noctis IV, another Italian indie title. Santa Ragione, a Milan studio in Italy, both developed and published it in 2013. By October 2013 it had sold 8,000 copies, and it holds a Metacritic score of 73.

  • Misao - 2024 HD Remaster

    Misao is a horror puzzle game set inside a cursed school, where the goal is to track down six scattered pieces of a girl's body. Players explore the haunted building, solve puzzles and survive its threats while gathering each missing part. Made in Japan by Sen with Miscreant's Room, it began as freeware in 2011, reached Steam as a definitive edition in 2017 and received an HD remaster in 2024. It was built with Wolf RPG Editor and shares a universe with Mad Father.

  • MiSide

    MiSide starts out light-hearted: after installing a mobile game, the player spends time with an anime-styled virtual girlfriend through a series of mini-games. Before long, however, the story turns into a metafictional horror tale. The adventure was made by AIHASTO, a Russian indie development team, and released on Steam in December 2024 with publishing by IndieArk, and Steam also tags it with RPG and simulation.

Its exploration and combat structure closely follows the approach of Reverie Under the Moonlight, the previous entry. Brazilian studio Bombservice developed it, and Playism published it for Windows in January 2024.

A Second Term expansion followed in 2019, along with a string of sequels beginning with Monster Camp in 2020.

It is built in Unity.

It comes from Digital Sun, an independent studio in Spain, with 11 bit studios as its Steam publisher. The game launched in May 2018 on Windows, macOS, Linux and consoles, gained a Between Dimensions expansion in 2019, and was later followed by a sequel, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault.
