Typing Racer — Typing Test Game
by CasualEducationaltypingspeed
About this game
Most typing tests give you a number. This one gives you an opponent.
When you finish a run, the game records not just your speed but your pacing —
where you flew, where you hesitated. Next time, that recording races beside you
as a ghost. You are not chasing an average; you are chasing the exact run you
had before, hesitations and all.
Three rivals at fixed speeds race too — Steady, Brisk and Quick — so a
first-time player still has someone to beat. Live WPM, accuracy, and position
update as you type, and your own type bar is the red one, so you can find
yourself on the rack without reading a label.
The passage is printed on paper, not shown on a dark screen. Untyped text sits
faint, as though the ribbon has not struck it yet, and darkens to full ink as
you type through it — so how far you have come is legible from across the room.
Mistakes are struck in ribbon red and underscored, the way a typist marks one.
Accuracy is measured honestly: correcting a mistake repairs your progress but
never your accuracy, because a test that forgives errors is not measuring
anything.
Passages are available in English and Arabic, with full right-to-left support.
