About this game
Point the car, hit the throttle, and pull the handbrake into the corner. The
back end lets go, the tyres mark the ground, and if you catch it you carry more
speed through the turn than braking would have given you.
The handling model keeps the car's heading and its actual direction of travel
separate — which is the only way a car can genuinely drift rather than just turn
quickly. Grip scrubs sideways speed off continuously; the handbrake drops that
grip so you can start a slide on purpose. Steering scales with speed, so the car
never pivots on the spot.
Eight courses, laid out in cones on tarmac with the route chalked on the ground
between them. You can see where the course goes before you get there, and the
next gate stands out in hi-vis yellow while the ones behind you go grey. Pass
them in order as fast as you can. Best time per course is kept locally. There
are no walls and no penalties — getting it wrong just costs you time.
The camera follows where the car is *travelling* rather than where it points, so
a sideways car visibly reads as sideways.
