Momodora: Moonlit Farewell is an independent Metroidvania and the fifth game in the Momodora series, picking up the story of Momodora III with Momo Reinol back as the lead. Its exploration and combat structure closely follows the approach of Reverie Under the Moonlight, the previous entry. Brazilian studio Bombservice developed it, and Playism published it for Windows in January 2024.
Mouthwashing is a horror adventure set aboard the cargo ship Tulpar after a mysterious crash leaves its crew drifting in space with dwindling supplies. The captain survives, badly injured and unable to move or speak, and the others hold him responsible for wrecking the ship on purpose. Swedish studio Wrong Organ developed the game and Critical Reflex published it in 2024, and it earned wide praise for its storytelling and distinctive visual style.
Built for one player, Mullet MadJack is a first-person shooter that mixes in roguelite structure, keeping the focus on action-driven runs. It was developed by Hammer95 Studios in Brazil and published by Epopeia Games, launching on Windows in May 2024. Versions for current and previous-generation Xbox consoles followed in March 2025 as part of Xbox Game Pass, and a Nintendo Switch release arrived in April 2026.
Neva is a puzzle platformer about Alba, a young woman who journeys with a wolf named Neva through a land being overtaken by darkness, with the adventure unfolding over the course of four seasons. It blends platforming and puzzles with action-adventure elements. Spanish studio Nomada Studio developed it and Devolver Digital published it in October 2024 on PC and consoles, and a prequel expansion, Neva Prologue, followed in February 2026.
No Case Should Remain Unsolved is a mystery game in which retired Senior Inspector Jean Gyeong revisits the disappearance of a girl named Seowan through memories of past interviews. Players read witness testimonies, rearrange them by order and speaker, and pick out words that trigger new memories. It was created by South Korean indie developer Somi in their spare time during 2023 and won awards at several game festivals.
Satisfactory is a first-person factory-building simulation in which a pioneer lands on an alien world and turns its resources into ever larger production lines. Early work centres on building a space elevator, and shipping parts through it to the FICSIT corporation unlocks new tiers of machines and technology. Swedish studio Coffee Stain Studios built it in Unreal Engine 4, ran it in early access from 2019 and launched the full release in 2024, where it holds a Metacritic score of 91.
Shadows of Doubt is a first-person detective game with stealth elements from British developer ColePowered Games, published by Fireshine Games. Its genre labels include immersive sim, cyberpunk and neo-noir, and critics praised its open-ended design while pointing to repetitive stretches and bugs. It entered early access on Windows in April 2023 and left it in September 2024, arriving on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 at the same time.
SKALD: Against the Black Priory is a role-playing game with a retro visual style that looks back to the Ultima games of the 1980s. Players search for a missing friend across a cursed land crawling with Lovecraftian horrors. It was made by Norwegian studio High North Studios, with Raw Fury publishing it in 2024. Reviews were mixed to positive, praising its aesthetic and old-school atmosphere while questioning its combat and graphical readability.
The sequel to 2018's The Forest, Sons of the Forest delivers survival horror set on a mysterious island. Players are sent there to find a missing CEO and his family, confronting cannibalistic creatures while uncovering an ancient secret hidden underground. Canadian studio Endnight Games developed it, with Newnight publishing, and it entered early access on Windows in February 2023 before its full release in February 2024.
Summerhouse is a relaxed sandbox town-building game where you assemble villages and dress up the scenery from a kit of building pieces and decorations. There are four environments to work in, a day-night cycle and extras that unlock as you play, such as animated objects. It is the first solo release of German developer Friedemann Allmenröder, published by Future Friends Games in 2024, and critics liked its open-ended design and visuals.
Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss is an adventure game about diving into the remains of a 19th-century ship. Players explore the sunken wreck, and the twist is that they once served among its crew, which gives the search a personal edge. It was developed by Norwegian studio Sarepta Studio and published by Team17 in 2024. Its Steam listing also notes role-playing elements alongside the exploration.
Thank Goodness You're Here! is a comic adventure in which a tiny yellow salesman wanders the fictional northern English town of Barnsworth, helping locals with odd problems. Slapping objects and people is the main way to interact, and the focus stays on surreal gags rather than a long story. It was made by Coal Supper, a two-person studio from Yorkshire in the United Kingdom, published by Panic in 2024, and it won the British Game BAFTA.
This visual novel, The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty, takes place in a famine-stricken China. It follows a bandit who deals in human lives as he escorts four girls, one of them mute and bent on revenge, and the story turns toward redemption as secrets surface. Chinese developer ZerocreationGame made it and co-published it with 2P Games in 2024. It holds a Metacritic score of 79.
The Outlast Trials is a first-person psychological survival horror game from Canadian studio Red Barrels, serving as a prequel to both Outlast and Outlast 2. Players take the role of test subjects drafted against their will into a secretive Cold War experiment. After a period of early access on Windows in 2023, it fully launched across PC and consoles in March 2024 and was generally well received by critics.
The Rise of the Golden Idol is a detective puzzle game and the follow-up to The Case of the Golden Idol from 2022. Like its predecessor it centers on reasoning through mysteries by examining evidence and drawing conclusions. It comes from Latvian studio Color Gray Games, runs on the Godot engine and was published by Playstack in 2024. Reviews were generally positive, and four downloadable expansions arrived during 2025 to extend the story.
Tiny Glade is a sandbox city-builder where players shape medieval houses, castles and other structures, decorate them, and reshape the surrounding land with features such as rivers and ponds. Critics described it as calm and cosy, though some wished it had more content. Swedish studio Pounce Light self-published it in September 2024 after a demo during Steam Next Fest, and it went on to earn nominations at the Steam Awards and the BAFTA Games Awards.
WEBFISHING is a multiplayer fishing game built around chatting with other players. Everyone plays as an animal character wandering a shared 3D space, landing fish that can be sold or turned in for quests to earn cash, which then goes toward better fishing gear and cosmetic items for the avatar. It was made by lamedeveloper, a solo indie developer in the United States, first shared on itch.io in 2022 and then remade for Steam in October 2024.
What the Car? is a comedy racing game from Triband, a studio based in Denmark, first released on Apple Arcade in 2023 and on Windows in September 2024. Players steer a car to the end of each level, but the way it moves and is controlled keeps changing in surprising ways, with stages parodying many different genres. Conceived as a successor to What the Golf?, it went on to win a 2024 D.I.C.E. honour as the year's top mobile game.
Windblown is an action roguelike developed by Motion Twin, a studio based in France, and co-published with Kepler Ghost. Its Steam listing files it under action, pairing combat with the repeated-run structure that the roguelike label describes. It entered early access on Windows in October 2024. A full release has been expected in 2026, with development continuing through early access.
Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom is a 3D collect-a-thon platformer in which you drive a taxi around an island, using it to explore and uncover the island's secrets. Italian indie studio Panik Arcade developed it, and it launched on Windows on April 9, 2024. Reviewers praised its gameplay, music and visuals, though its story drew criticism. It holds a Metacritic score of 78.
Zoria: Age of Shattering is a fantasy role-playing game centred on a squad of four heroes, each with individual skills and perks. Battles use turn-based tactical combat, and alongside fighting players manage an outpost and a roster of followers. It was developed by Tiny Trinket Games from Romania, with Anshar Publishing and Surefire Games handling publishing, and released in 2024 for Windows and Linux.
Clash: Mutants Vs Pirates is a free-to-play third-person MOBA in which space pirates fight mutants for control of the world. Players pick a side and battle in team matches as either faction. It is one of the earlier projects of NewGen, the Tunisian studio behind West Hunt, and sits under the same Steam developer account.
Arabian Puzzle: Ludo Quest combines spot-the-difference puzzles with Ludo. Each difference found earns dice powers used on the Ludo board. The story follows Zarqa al-Yamama, the sharp-eyed woman of pre-Islamic Arabian legend, and her companion Saqr across the desert. It is developed by Maysalward, a studio in Amman, Jordan, that makes culturally relevant games for Arab players.
Aunt Fatima is a first-person horror game in which you play a kidnapping victim trying to escape the house of Aunt Fatima and her husband. You solve puzzles, gather items and hunt for keys while she patrols the rooms, and hiding in wardrobes is your main defence when she gives chase. The game was created by Saudi solo developer Abdulla Al Hamad (DRTH), with Saudi-dialect Arabic text.
