Fragments of Him is a narrative game about Will, a man who dies near the start, and the people coping with his loss. Players move between four perspectives, including Will himself, his former girlfriend, his boyfriend and his grandmother, by choosing what each should interact with next. It was developed and published by Sassybot in the Netherlands and released in May 2016. Reviewers praised the writing but found the interaction repetitive.
Gibbon: Beyond the Trees is a 2D adventure game with hand-drawn art that follows a lost gibbon on a risky journey through unknown lands in search of home. Its story draws on real ecological issues and was shaped in collaboration with local people and experts from Southeast Asia. Herald: An Interactive Period Drama is a single-player adventure with visual novel elements and a branching story. It was developed by Italian studio Indomitus Games with Unreal Engine 3, entered early access in May 2014 and was released on Steam for Windows in April 2015.
J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars is a 2014 science fiction adventure game from Czech studio CBE Software, remaking the earlier J.U.L.I.A. with improved graphics, altered gameplay and a broader story. Journey is a wordless adventure in which a cloaked figure crosses a vast desert toward a far-off mountain. Other players can appear along the way and help each other, yet they cannot talk or type, communicating only through a musical chime that also turns dull scraps of cloth vivid red and opens the path ahead. American studio Thatgamecompany created it, first for PlayStation 3 in 2012; Annapurna Interactive later brought it to Windows, with a reactive score by Austin Wintory.

Late Shift is an interactive full-motion video game in which the story is told through live-action film and shaped by the viewer's choices. Santa Ragione, a Milan studio in Italy, both developed and published it in 2013. By October 2013 it had sold 8,000 copies, and it holds a Metacritic score of 73.
Near-Mage combines point-and-click adventure play with RPG elements. It comes from Romanian developer Stuck In Attic, which handled both development and publishing, and it was released for Windows, macOS and Linux in May 2025. On Steam it is filed under the adventure and indie categories, and it supports all three major desktop platforms from launch.
Of Bird and Cage presents a metal album as a story-driven game roughly two hours long, letting players experience the music in an unusual interactive form. Its store listing names guest performers including Ron Thal, Rob van der Loo, and Ruud Jolie. Developed and published by Capricia Productions, a studio from Israel, it was released on Windows in May 2021 and is tagged on Steam as an action game.
One Dreamer is a story-driven adventure game in which some sections have players solve puzzles by writing and editing code. Focused on story and exploration, OPUS: Rocket of Whispers is a two-dimensional adventure set in a far future ravaged by plague. A witch teams up with a rocket builder's son to build and launch a rocket that will give the dead a burial in space. Taiwanese independent studio SIGONO made it as the second Opus game, releasing it on mobile in 2017 and on Steam for Windows and macOS in February 2018.
OPUS: The Day We Found Earth is a narrative adventure that puts exploration and storytelling ahead of challenge or combat. The experience is built around discovering its story at the player's own pace. It comes from SIGONO, an independent studio in Taiwan once called Team Signal, and debuted on mobile in 2015 before reaching Windows and Mac through Steam in 2016. It earned a Best Meaningful Play nomination at the International Mobile Gaming Awards and later received two sequels.
Pilgrims is a graphic adventure made and self-published by Czech studio Amanita Design.
