Darkness Road is a survival and psychological horror game set in 1996 in Dar Al Hai. Players control Hamdan, a resident trapped in a cursed town, fighting enemies and solving puzzles to escape. The story was inspired by a real road between Al Tayy and Al Khawaneej in Dubai and draws on Emirati folklore. Its demo passed 10,000 Steam downloads in three months. It is developed by Foxrito Studios, an independent Emirati studio founded by Ismail Ahli and Hussain Darwish.
