Mattel Digital Studios has released Skeletor: Until Next Time, its first self-published mobile game. The title launches on iOS today, with an Android version set for release next week. This follows the announcement of the upcoming Masters of the Universe film, scheduled for June 5th.
Gameplay Features and Mechanics
Skeletor: Until Next Time is a fast-paced endless runner where players control Skeletor as he races through Snake Mountain. The game uses swipe-based controls for movement, allowing players to dash, leap over traps, and avoid hazards. Special abilities like summoning Panthor are available to extend gameplay.
Partnership and Development Strategy
The game was developed in partnership with Amber, marking Mattel's first independent mobile game release. This follows the acquisition of Mattel163, a mobile games studio, which strengthens Mattel's digital gaming portfolio.
