Amber Isle is a social simulation game with management elements, tagged on Steam as casual, adventure and RPG. It was developed by Ambertail Games, a studio in Ireland, and published by Team17. The game launched on Windows on 10 October 2024, and a Nintendo Switch version followed in February 2025. It will interest players who enjoy relaxed simulation games built around community life and management.

Anthology of the Killer gathers nine short horror comedy games starring BB, a student in a city full of serial killers who hunts for spooky material for her zine. Each episode drops her into strange, dangerous encounters, mixing surreal humor with dread. The series is by Irish solo developer Stephen Gillmurphy, known as thecatamites, and won the Nuovo Award at the 2024 Independent Games Festival, where it was also up for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize.
Crab Champions is a third-person roguelike looter shooter in which players sweep across exotic islands, pairing fluid movement with quick, aggressive combat. It grew out of Noisestorm's viral track Crab Rave, whose music video, featuring 3D animated crabs dancing, drew millions of views. Developed and published by Noisestorm, based in Ireland, it was announced in April 2019 and entered Steam Early Access on 1 April 2023.
Darkwind: War on Wheels is an online multiplayer game of armed cars, where races and road battles are resolved in turns rather than in real time. Its post-apocalyptic world draws on the Car Wars tabletop game and the Mad Max films while keeping a setting of its own. Created by Irish developer Sam Redfern under Psychic Software, it opened to players in 2007 and has kept receiving updates, arriving on Steam as a free-to-play release in 2014.
Éalú, whose title means escape in Irish, is a stop-motion point-and-click adventure. It is conceived as a spiritual successor to Tomcat Disposables, a song by American musician Will Wood, from In case I make it, his 2022 album. The game was created by Beyond The Bark, an indie studio in Limerick, Ireland, with Orr Games also credited, and arrived on Windows on October 2, 2025.
Mountain is an unusual simulation game in which you have very little control: your only real input comes at the start, when you are asked to draw some objects. Beyond that the experience is largely passive, and the game is meant to run in the background while you use other programs. It was created by David OReilly, from Ireland, with Double Fine Productions publishing, and released in 2014 for Windows, macOS, Linux and iOS.
Paleo Pines is a life simulation game in which you work as a rancher at a dinosaur sanctuary. Days are spent looking after the creatures and building friendships with the people of the nearby town. It was made by independent studio Italic Pig in Ireland and released on 26 September 2023 for Windows, Linux and a range of consoles. Its Steam listing combines simulation, RPG and adventure tags with a casual, easygoing pace.
Super Hexagon is an action game by independent developer Terry Cavanagh, with a soundtrack by Chipzel. It grew out of Hexagon, a prototype Cavanagh made in early 2012 for a game jam lasting twelve hours. The game launched on iOS that September, with Windows and macOS versions arriving three months later. Cavanagh is from Ireland, and the original was built with Adobe Flash tools. It holds a Metacritic score of 88 on its store page.
The Darkside Detective is a point-and-click adventure with a detective theme, focused on investigating cases through classic adventure-game interaction. It was developed by Spooky Doorway, a studio in Ireland, and published by Akupara Games, launching on July 27, 2017 for Windows, macOS and Linux before reaching consoles. It was later followed in 2021 by a sequel titled A Fumble in the Dark.
VVVVVV is a puzzle platformer where you cannot jump; instead you flip gravity so Captain Viridian falls up or down. You guide the captain through over 400 rooms to find a crew scattered by a teleporter accident, and the game also supports levels made by players. It was created by Terry Cavanagh from Ireland, first built in Adobe Flash and released in 2010, and a later C++ port helped it reach many more platforms.
