Absolver is a martial arts action RPG from Sloclap, a Paris indie studio formed by former Ubisoft Paris staff, published by Devolver Digital. Players battle other players and AI opponents across the land of Adal, seeking a place among the Absolver peacekeepers. Moves are arranged in a combat deck where each card maps to an attack, and new cards, gear and weapons are earned as you progress. It was built in Unreal Engine 4 and released in 2017.
Cairn is a climbing simulation adventure from The Game Bakers of France, following mountaineer Aava as she attempts to reach the top of Mount Kami. Every limb is placed by hand, while hunger, thirst and body temperature must be managed alongside weather and a day-night cycle that shift difficulty. On the ascent she meets other climbers and finds traces of earlier expeditions and a vanished civilization. It launched in January 2026.
Cookie Clicker is an incremental game created in 2013 by French programmer Julien Thiennot, known as Orteil. You start by clicking a giant cookie, then spend your haul on buildings that bake automatically and upgrades that boost every source of output. Production grows exponentially and the tone gradually drifts toward cosmic horror. There is no traditional ending; instead you can ascend to restart with faster growth, and the game is credited with helping shape idle gaming.
En Garde! is a third-person action game developed by Fireplace Games, a studio from France. Players take on the role of Adalia de Volador, a swashbuckling heroine in a 17th-century setting, with sword-driven action at the centre of play. Its Steam listing also tags it as an adventure. Event[0] is a science fiction adventure played in first person, from Ocelot Society, a developer in France. An astronaut headed for Europa takes shelter on a run-down leisure ship after a disaster, finding only its AI, Kaizen-85, still aboard. Evoland is a role-playing game from Shiro Games of France, built on the Heaps engine and first released in 2013. It borrows from Final Fantasy, Diablo and The Legend of Zelda and is packed with nods to film and gaming history. As you advance, you unlock new technologies and graphical upgrades that reference successive eras of the games industry. A sequel, Evoland 2, came out in 2015.
Ghost of a Tale is a stealth action RPG created mainly by Lionel Gallat of SeithCG in France, funded through a 2013 Indiegogo campaign. You play Tilo, a mouse minstrel held on an island prison run by rats, trying to escape and find his wife. Exploration means creeping past guards and using disguises to stay unnoticed in a dark medieval world of animal characters. The full PC version was released in March 2018.
Haven is a role-playing game developed and self-published by The Game Bakers, a studio from France. It combines role-playing systems with adventure, as listed in its Steam tags. It is built on the Heaps engine and came out in 2018 on PC before spreading to consoles and mobile devices. Critics were generally positive at launch. Its lasting popularity led to a 4X board game adaptation, Northgard: Uncharted Lands, which appeared in 2022.
Nuclear Blaze is an action-adventure from Deepnight Games, a developer in France, in which you play a firefighter exploring a military facility. Your hose is the main tool for putting out fires inside the base while you search for survivors and uncover what the site was built for. It launched on Windows via Steam in October 2021, reaching PlayStation 4 and Switch in 2023. Reviews at release were mixed.
Roboquest is a roguelite first-person shooter from RyseUp Studios, an indie developer from France, built in Unreal Engine 4. It combines first-person gunfights with the run-based structure of the roguelite format. It spent time in Steam early access from 2020 before its full launch on PC and Xbox in November 2023. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions followed in May 2025.
Sifu is a beat 'em up from Sloclap, a studio in France, built in Unreal Engine 4. Set in China, it casts you as the child of a martial arts master seeking revenge for their father's murder. A magical talisman revives you after each death but ages you, raising attack power while lowering health, and growing too old means permanent death and a level restart. It launched in 2022 and was reviewed positively for its combat, environments and story.
Solasta II is a tactical role-playing game from Tactical Adventures, a studio based in France, published together with Kepler Interactive. It follows on from Solasta: Crown of the Magister, which came out in 2021. Its Steam tags place it across RPG, strategy and adventure, in line with the tactical focus of its genre. An early access version launched on Windows in March 2026.
Stray is a third-person adventure in which you play a stray cat trapped in a walled city of robots, machines and mutant bacteria. You leap between ledges, climb obstacles and interact with the world, while the drone B-12 carries items and hacks devices to solve puzzles. Hostile Zurks and Sentinels must be evaded along the way. It was built in Unreal Engine 4 by BlueTwelve Studio from France and released by Annapurna Interactive in 2022.
There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension is a puzzle adventure from Draw Me A Pixel, a company based in France. It is played in point-and-click style, with casual puzzle solving at its core. The game grew out of creator Pascal Cammisotto's 2015 game jam winner There Is No Game, and is often treated as a sequel or expansion of it. It launched on Windows and macOS in August 2020, reaching mobile and Switch later.
Tinykin is a 3D puzzle platformer from Splashteam, a studio in France, published by tinyBuild. Researcher Milodane explores a strange planet and gathers tiny creatures with special abilities that help him reach new areas and complete goals.
